In its first four games this year, the Wilton High boys hockey team has equaled its win total from all of last season.

By routing Trinity Catholic, 8-1, and BBD (Brookfield/Bethel/Danbury), 7-2, last week at the Winter Garden in Ridgefield, Wilton improved its record to 4-0. The Warriors went 4-17 over 21 games in 2017-18.

Wilton has now scored 25 goals in its first four games, tallying seven or more goals in three of those contests.

Junior defenseman Tommy McHugh led Wilton with three goals and an assist in the triumph over Trinity Catholic last Wednesday.

Sophomore forward Jackson Kelly added two goals and an assist for the Warriors.

Teammates Luke O’Neill, David Overbeeke, and Dean DiNanno each contributed one goal, while Tyler Everitt, Brandon Jonsson, Lucas Thelen, Logan Motyka, and Kevin Fung had one assist apiece.

McHugh then scored two goals to lead the Warriors in the win over BBD on Friday.

Colin Lenskold, Overbeeke, DiNanno, Jonsson, and Everitt added one goal apiece.

Overbeeke finished with two assists, and DiNanno, Everitt, Jonsson, and O’Neill had one assist apiece.

Notes: Wilton is in the midst of a two-week break before returning to the ice on Saturday, Jan. 5, against Newtown at the Danbury Ice Arena.

The Warriors’ next home game is Jan. 12 against Staples (8:50 p.m.) at the Winter Garden in Ridgefield.
