Senior Center News: Library's executive director is booked for lunch and talk
On Wednesday, Sept. 26, Elaine Tai-Lauria, executive director of the Wilton Library, will tell those gathered for the weekly luncheon about the resources at Wilton Library and inquire as to how the library can better serve the seniors in Wilton.
Ms. Tai-Lauria assumed this position on July 1 of this year, replacing Kathy Leeds. She also served on the Board of Trustees for more than five years and chaired the Technology Committee.
She and her husband, Phil Lauria, have lived in Wilton for 25 years and raised their son here.
The lunch takes place each Wednesday at noon at Ogden House. Call the senior center for reservations, 203-834-6240. Lunch is $3.
Representatives from the Southwestern Connecticut Agency on Aging will present information regarding updates in the Medicare program for 2013 on Thursday, Oct. 4, at 2 in the senior center lounge. Please call to reserve your place: 203-834-6238. A minimum of 10 participants is required for the presentation.
Andrea Ragusa leads play reading and discussion group at the senior center on the first Monday of the month. Participants are invited to take a role or just read along and join in the discussion afterward. Copies of each play are available at the senior center prior to the play reading date. The group will begin on Oct. 1 at 3, with Richard III by William Shakespeare. In subsequent months the groups will read The Seagull by Anton Chekhov, Private Lives by Noel Coward, The Cocktail Party by T. S. Eliot, Look Back in Anger by John Osborne, A Doll’s House by Henrik Ibsen, and Rumors by Neil Simon.
All activities take place at the Senior Center unless otherwise specified.
