Flu shot time
The day after Thanksgiving is traditionally the time for the Flu Shot Clinic sponsored by Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County. This year’s clinic is Friday, Nov. 23, from 10:30 to 12:30. The clinic welcomes people from age three and up; children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by parents or legal guardians. The shots will be administered on a first-come, first-served basis with no need for an appointment. The cost of the flu shot is $38 with Medicare Part B, Anthem and Aetna accepted as payment. Participants are reminded to bring their insurance cards and to wear clothing with sleeves that roll up easily. A pneumonia vaccine is available to those age 65 or older who have never received this vaccine. The cost is $80 and is billable to Medicare Part B. For more information, call the Flu Hotline at 203-834-6341, ext. 444.
