The Wilton High gymnastics team opened its season on Monday with a score of 131.95 to defeat both New Canaan (114.65) and Westhill (104.15) at home.

Junior Jess Olin, a first-year member of the team, led the way for the Warriors with high scores on vault (9.1), bars (8.8) and floor (9.35). She scored 34.75 in the all-around.

Freshman Lilly Byrnes also had a strong debut with the best beam score of the evening (8.2) and a 9.05 on her floor routine, which was the second-best overall score. She was also fourth overall on vault (8.3).

Junior Brooke Taffler finished second on the team on vault (and third overall) with an 8.5, and second overall on bars (8.35).

Sophomore Kate Ginsburg was second overall on beam (8.1) and junior Sam Huffman was third overall on bars (8.1).

Junior Alyssa Jarrett took fourth overall on beam (7.7) and junior Taylor White was fourth overall on floor (7.85).

For New Canaan, Kaitlyn Moussignac had a strong meet as she was second overall on vault (8.6) and third overall on beam (7.9) and floor (8.1). She was second in the all-around with a 32.5 score.
