Subject:  Miller Driscoll School Renovation Project

FACT: Project was studied by a highly qualified citizen building committee that unanimously recommended approval of the project

FACT: The proposed project is the fastest and most cost-effective way to renovate this school. The projected costs were professionally calculated and substantiated by Tai Soo Kim, Architects, and Turner Construction Co.

FACT: The Miller-Driscoll School Renovation Project was unanimously approved by the:

  • Board of Selectmen.
  • Board of Finance
  • Board of Education

FACT:  A new school was never a viable option due to:

  • Insufficient space in Wilton — no possibility to build
  • Substantially increased costs + $30 million over the renovation option, if space existed
