Bill Glass to lead at Bridgeport Military Academy

Retired Navy Capt. Bill Glass has been appointed the senior naval science instructor at the Bridgeport Military Academy, a new high school that opened in the fall of 2013 on the campus of the Fairchild Wheeler Interdistrict Magnet School.

Capt. Glass, a Wilton resident, will lead the academy’s Navy National Defense Cadet Corps program, which teaches 115 freshman cadets the fundamentals of good citizenship, leadership, service, naval tradition, and basic military drill.

The Bridgeport Military Academy offers students from the greater Bridgeport area the opportunity to experience their secondary education in a challenging environment with an emphasis on excellence in academics while also exploring careers in public safety.

Through partnerships with fire, police, Homeland Security, military services, and other public safety departments, students are provided real-world, hands-on opportunities to get trained and certified in a variety of first-responder areas.
