Donato Joseph Perillo of Wilton and, previously, Floral Park, N.Y., Falmouth, Mass., and Delray Beach, Fla., died Thursday, March 30. He was 91 years old.
He was born Feb. 6, 1926, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of Mary and Joseph Perillo, beloved youngest brother of three sisters. He attended Franklin K. Lane high school in Brooklyn. In World War II, he served in the U.S. Army and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a lifelong sports fan, especially of the Brooklyn Dodgers and the New York Mets, loved to golf, and spent his career selling and servicing commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems.
He is survived by his beloved wife of over 65 years, Lena; his daughter Mary Lee Danaher and her husband John of Wilton; his son Joseph and his wife Julie of Hempstead, N.Y.; his daughter Angela Flood and her husband John of Crozet, Va.; eight granddaughters: Rebekah, Katie, Beth, Catherine, Emily, Danielle, Mary Kate, and Elizabeth, and seven great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, April 3, at 12:30, at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Wilton.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Virginia or the Alzheimer’s Association.
