Gymnastics: Wilton hits season high, remains unbeaten

The Wilton High gymnastics team had its best outing of the season as the Warriors swept two opponents on Tuesday in New Milford to improve to 13-0.

Wilton scored a season-high 138.55 to defeat both Darien (130.5) and New Milford (128.45).

Annie Saltarelli led the way as she was first overall on bars (8.9) and beam (9.0), and Christina Brandt had a 9.2 on floor to take first overall.

Lauren Kozakiewicz led the Warriors on vault with an 8.9, which tied for the best overall score. She was followed by Ashley Bascom (8.7), Sara Posson (8.65) and Payton Piedmont (8.6).

Adding to the score on bars were Bascom (8.8), Piedmont (8.5) and Brandt 8.4, while the team’s beam score also featured Brandt (8.9) along with Piedmont and Morgan Leddy, who both scored 8.7.

Rounding out the scoring on floor were Piedmont (8.45), Bascom (8.1) and Posson (8.045).

In the all-around, Brandt was first overall with a 34.9. Piedmont was third (34.25) and Bascom was fourth (34.1).
