Circle of Care appoints new director

Circle of Care, the Wilton-based foundation supporting families of children suffering from cancer, has appointed Gina M. Longo as executive director.

This position involves working closely with the Circle of Care founders and board to implement the vision and assist with the future direction of the organization.

Longo has more than 20 years of nonprofit management and fund-raising experience and has a proven track record in academic and healthcare organizations. She previously served as chief of investor services at Girl Scouts of the USA and prior to that was director of development at Outer Cape Health Services.

As community executive at the American Cancer Society, she managed Westport’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer the largest of its walks in the state. Earlier in her career, she served as director of development and events at Yale University.

Longo holds a master of science degree in counselor education from Central Connecticut State University, and a bachelor of science degree in psychology from the University of Scranton.

Circle of Care supports children with cancer and their families from day of diagnosis through treatment and beyond, providing direct practical, emotional and financial support.
