The Dear Dad Tour allows Connecticut residents to tell their dad story, whether it’s a story about their dad or their experience being a dad. Once the stories are collected, they are shared with the world in the hopes of drawing attention to the important role of fathers and an initiative which aims to strengthen that paternal relationship.
The tour is a collaborative effort of the Connecticut Fatherhood Initiative (CFI) of the Department of Social Services (DSS) and American View Productions (AVP), a marketing and promotions agency. For 20 years the CFI has been changing the systems that can improve fathers’ ability to be positively involved in the lives of their children. The Dear Dad Tour is a public awareness campaign that utilizes fatherhood stories to bring attention to the activities of the CFI while sharing compelling examples of why fatherhood is so important.
