Letter: Ambler holiday events a success

To the Editors:

On Friday, Nov. 30, we celebrated the season with a wonderful Winter Warming Party at Ambler Farm. The sold-out event kicked off our annual Greens Sale; guests mixed and mingled over custom cocktails and paired hors d’oeuvres while perusing donated experiences from local businesses.

We would like to thank Amis Trattoria, Nod Hill Brewery, Oak+Almond and Sweet Pierre’s as well as Tim LaBant Catering for dazzling taste buds throughout the evening.

We would also like to thank the following retail businesses and organizations for their generous donations: Age of Reason Toys, The Barn Door Restaurant, Blowdry Bar, Bodyquest Barre Studio, Bowtie Cinemas, Cucina Casalinga, Discovery Museum, Dream Spa, Earthplace, Fred Astaire Dance Studio, Four Seasons Racquet Club, The Granola Bar, Hers Wilton, Institute of Culinary Education New York City, Jerri Graham Photography, Karate Universe, Marina Heau Art, Marly’s Bistro, Milkcraft, Open House, Parker Mansion, Parlor, Personal Training Professionals, Ridgefield Playhouse, Saugatuck Sweets, She La La, Soulcycle, Southern Yankee, Splash Carwash, Splatterbox, Terrain, Westport Playhouse, Wilton Fire Department, Wilton Playshop, Woodcock Nature Center, and Wilton YMCA.

Many thanks to everyone who attended the Winter Warming Party and very generously helped us raise funds for a much-needed tractor.

On the first two weekends of December, Ambler Farm decked-the-halls with a forest of green with 430 fraser and balsam trees, 270 wreaths and an abundance of pine roping for the Annual Holiday Greens Sale. Families enjoyed hot cocoa, cider and treats, and catching up with Santa Claus, while spending time with friends and leaving with freshly cut trees.

Thank you to everyone for supporting this annual tradition, and one of our largest annual fund-raisers, which benefits the farm’s ongoing programs. We’d also like to express our sincere appreciation to the more than 100 amazing volunteers, including apprentices from Ambler Farm, for your efforts in making this event seamless and tremendously successful! A huge thanks to the Wilton Garden Club for donating beautiful seasonal centerpieces and Marie Donahue for her beautiful holiday boughs. Many thanks to Lee Horticultural Services, KMG Landscaping and Wilton Lawn Care for donating their time and strength to unload all of our gorgeous greens. Thank you to those who made generous charitable donations by purchasing 40 trees for Wilton Social Services families.

And a special thanks to Board Member Debbie Corrigan, whose dedication led to another great success.

We hope everyone enjoys the holidays, and that we see you at the farm soon.

All the best in 2019!
