Support for grieving parents

Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County will offer an eight-week bereavement support group to help parents cope with loss following the death of a child. The group will meet weekly on Thursday afternoons from 2:30 to 4, Jan. 18 through March 8.

“This support group will offer bereaved parents a safe place to talk about their child and their loss as well as their fears, anxieties and other feelings,” said Laurie Petrasanta of the nursing agency. “Parents will learn from the shared experiences of others who have suffered a similar loss.”

The bereavement support group will be held at the nursing agency’s offices in Suite 114 at the Health and Wellness Center at I-Park, 761 Main Avenue in Norwalk. It  is free and open to the public but pre-registration is required. Call 203-834-6341, ext. 316.
