The Wilton Democratic Town Committee (DTC) is organizing a group of people to travel to the New York City Women’s March on Saturday, Jan. 20. They will gather at the South Norwalk train station, take the 8:39 a.m. train to Grand Central, and then take mass transit. The march steps of at 11 a.m.
Last year, local groups of women and men attended marches in Washington, D.C., New York City and Hartford.
“At a troubling time for this country, women have been our nation’s conscience and inspiration,” said Acting DTC Chair Tom Dubin. “They have advocated not only for their own rights but for the rights of all Americans. Last year’s Women’s March in many ways ignited this powerful movement, and we are proud to support it again this year.”
The mission of the march, according to organizers, is to harness the political power of diverse women and their communities to create transformative social change.
