Library to welcome jazz trio on Sunday

The temperatures are expected to drop on Sunday, but things will heat up when the jazz trio Stranahan/Zaleski/Rosato performs at Wilton Library’s Hot & Cool: Jazz at the Brubeck Room concert Jan. 5, beginning at 4. This talented group is comprised of Colin Stranahan on drums, Glenn Zaleski on piano and Rick Rosato on bass.

Mr. Stranahan and Mr. Zaleski met in 2005 as students at the Brubeck Institute Fellowship Program in Stockton, Calif. The artists have chosen to commemorate this first concert of the year taking place in the Brubeck Room with a few of their favorite Dave Brubeck compositions, as well as with selections from their new CD, Limitless.

The group first came together in 2010, releasing a debut album, Anticipation, in 2011.   Since its release, they have been performing internationally. After the release of  Limitless, the New York Times noted the trio’s “distinctive group sound,” as well as Mr. Stranahan’s “maturing of taste,” Mr. Zaleski’s “subtle clarities of touch,” and Mr. Rosato’s “bedrock lines.” This performance marks a return for both Mr. Stranahan and Mr. Zaleski who performed in a Hot & Cool Concert in September 2009 as members of the Modern Jazz Quintet.

An informal reception will follow the concert. A donation of $10 per person is suggested to help offset costs. Due to the popularity of the Hot & Cool concert series, advanced registration is highly recommended. Visit and click on Events or call 203-762-3950, ext. 213.
