Wilton White second at tourney

In just its second-ever tournament, Wilton White played some of its best soccer of the season, taking second place in the U-9 division at the CT Rush Columbus Day Challenge. The second-place finish in the six-team group was a total team effort, with the defense holding firm throughout and the offense breaking out in the final game of the three-game tournament.

After Wilton dropped its opener to eventual champion Westport Blue in a hard-fought contest, Abby Philippon scored two goals and keepers Mia Timnev and Isa Rios combined for a shutout during the team’s 2-0 victory over Wilton 2010.
