Back in June, Wilton police carried the Special Olympics torch through the center of town, paying homage to the athletes and their families who participate in the annual sporting event.

On Tuesday, Oct. 10, Wilton police officers will further that commitment with a Tip-A-Cop event to benefit Special Olympics Connecticut. From 6 to 10, they will take orders and serve customers at Cactus Rose Cantina at 5 River Road.

All tips the officers receive for their efforts will go to Special Olympics Connecticut to support its year-round sports, health and fitness programs for athletes of all abilities.
