Police arrested a Danbury man on Sept. 18 for breaking into and burglarizing a Freshwater Lane home.
Andre Genest, 44, of 214 Brushy Hill Road, was arrested on a warrant issued by Norwalk Superior Court after police determined he forced entry into a Freshwater Lane home on Sept. 10 and stole a bedroom safe, which contained about $50,000 in valuables, mostly jewelry. Camera equipment and a computer were also taken, police said.
He was charged with third-degree burglary and first-degree larceny.
Genest was stopped while driving on Chestnut Hill Road, and was arrested after a routine traffic stop around 4 p.m., according to police.
While being processed at headquarters, Genest was found in violation of his parole and ordered to be held in custody until he could be presented in court on Sept. 19.
