Boys hoop: Wilton to play Trinity in FCIAC semis Tuesday

The Wilton High boys basketball team will look to continue its Cinderella season tomorrow night in the FCIAC semifinals.

Fresh off a 66-64 overtime win over third-seed Westhill in the quarterfinals on Saturday, the sixth-seeded Warriors will face second-seed Trinity Catholic in the opening game of  a semifinal doubleheader at Fairfield Warde at 6 p.m.

Top-seed St. Joseph will play fourth-seed Bridgeport Central in the second semifinal at 7:30.

The winners of Tuesday’s games will meet for the FCIAC championship on Thursday night at 7 at Warde.

Wilton (14-7) lost to Trinity Catholic by a score of 70-65 in a regular-season game Feb. 12 in Wilton. The Warriors have won five straight since that setback.

Trinity Catholic (20-1) routed Norwalk, 71-52, in another quarterfinal game Saturday.
