The work of four Wilton artists is featured in an appropriately named exhibition — Four Artists from Wilton — The Café at Wave Hill Breads, at 30 High Street in central Norwalk.

The featured artists are Peggy Garbus, Gini Frank Fischer, Jennifer Harris, and Catherine Hartigan. The work encompasses a range of different subject matter and media, from highly abstract landcapes to realistic renderings of animals, as well as portrait and environmental photography.

“We’re excited to be celebrating the first anniversary of our café at our location in Norwalk,” said Margaret Sapir, co-owner of Wave Hill Breads Bakery & Café with her husband, Mitchell Rapoport. The couple live in Wilton.

“As we began our bakery in Wilton in 2005, we decided that we’d also like to honor our beginnings with a show that exhibits the work of four very talented Wilton artists.”

Ms. Garbus is known for her photographic portraits of children, families and pets, while Ms. Frank Fischer’s specialty is animal portrait studies. Ms. Harris works in contemporary oil landscapes.

“Several of the artists in this show create beautiful portraits of pets, and we thought it would be a great way to give back to the community by donating 10% of any art sales from this show to PAWS, the Pet Animal Welfare Society of Norwalk,” Ms. Sapir said. “PAWS is a network of volunteers who provide shelter, medical care and affection while finding loving homes for homeless and abused dogs and cats, and we think that they do great work.”

Ms. Sapir reported two paintings have already been sold from the show that opened Feb. 10. The exhibition will continue through March 31.

Wave Hill Breads is an artisanal micro-bakery and café featuring handcrafted breads and authentic French pastries. Additionally, Wave Hill Breads has opened an outlet at the SoNo Market Place at 314 Wilson Avenue in South Norwalk.
