Wilton gymnasts chalk up two more wins

The Wilton High gymnastics team hit a new season-high on Thursday, scoring 138.85 at home to defeat Oxford and Newtown.

Wilton is now 15-0 on the season.

Ashley Bascom led the Warriors on the bars (8.8), beam (9.0) and floor (9.1), and also scored 8.7 on vault for an all-around score of 35.6.

Christina Brandt led Wilton on vault with an 8.9, and scored a 9.0 on floor, 8.4 on beam and 8.2 on bars, for an all-around score of 34.5.

Payton Piedmont finished an 8.75 on vault, 8.35 on bars, 8.35 on beam and 8.75 on floor.

Morgan Leddy score 8.9 on beam.

Sara Posson scored 8.9 on floor.

Also scoring on vault was Meg Daversa with an 8.35.

The scoring on bars also featured Leddy’s 8.3.

On beam, the scoring was rounded out by Annie Saltarelli (8.45) and Sam Farhi (8.4).

On the floor, Saltarelli scored an 8.7.

Newtown scored 127.35 and Oxford scored 87.85.
