Mr. John “Jack” Parker Wiswall, age 96, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Abbott Terrace Healthcare Center. He was the devoted husband of the late Virginia (Zwart) Wiswall.
Jack was born on April 5, 1916 in New Milford, son of the late Robert John and Gladys (Donnelly) (Wiswall) Gay. Jack grew up in Norwalk and moved to Wilton in 1947 where he lived until his move to Waterbury in 2004. He was employed by Nash Engineering Company in South Norwalk holding various positions until his retirement as an Industrial Photographer in 1979.
Photography and home movies were among his many interests. He was also a conductor for the Short Line Electric Railway in Branford (Trolley Museum) and had a great interest in trolleys and steam engines, traveling around the east coast taking home movies.
Jack is survived by his son Robert Wiswall of Wilton, his two daughters, Barbara Robinson of Waterbury and Patricia Mitchell of Bethel. He also leaves three grandchildren, Suzanne Newman of Naugatuck, James Robinson of Brooklet, GA and Donna Dwyer of Naugatuck, five great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Michael, Ashlynn, Autumn, and Julianna as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Jean Leavitt-Aatila of Hamden and Dorothy Wiswall of Norwalk.
