Wilton power outages still top 1,000. A spokesperson at CL&P could not give a specific reason why Wilton was so affected by last night’s wind storm other than to say it was directly related to trees.

The electric lines along Route 7 serve as a trunk for many towns including Wilton, Ridgefield, Redding and Weston. He could not say where outages were concentrated.

“We work on circuits, not in towns,” he said when asked how many crews were in Wilton.
