Girls basketball: Wilton routs McMahon, extends win streak

The Wilton High girls basketball team’s win streak stands at 11 straight games following a commanding 57-35 victory over Brien McMahon in Norwalk on Tuesday night.

The Warriors are now 13-2 overall and 11-2 in the conference. Wilton will host Trumbull (13-1, 11-1 FCIAC)  on Friday. The Eagles are currently holding on to the second overall seed in the FCIAC, while Wilton is fourth overall.

Wilton built a 33-11 lead by halftime against McMahon and cruised to the 22-point victory. Wilton got balanced scoring with Erin Cunningham leading the way with 14 points, followed by Alyssa Malvarosa with 12 points, Erica Meyer with 10 points and Casey Pearsall with eight points.

Malvarosa and Meyer led the Warriors with seven rebounds each. Pearsall added five assists and five steals in the game.
