Grab your hair spray, leg warmers and satin dance jacket and get ready for a trip down memory lane when you experience an evening at The Awesome 80s Prom. Wilton High School is going retro.

Currently an off-Broadway hit since 2004, this blast from the past features all the stereotypical characters from your favorite 80s movies, like the jock, the princess, the rebel, and, of course, the geek — all competing for the title of Prom King and Queen.

And just as with American Idol, the audience decides who wins. Anyone who enjoyed The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink or Sixteen Candles will relate to this musical performance, which features talented members of the Wilton High School senior Class of 2013.

“The Senior Show has become a theatrical tradition at WHS, enjoyed by senior classes for more than 30 years,” said Marty Kozlowski, the show’s producer. “The experience provides our kids with an opportunity to work and socialize with students in their own class and represents an avenue for a shared process and collaborative effort amongst people who might otherwise have nothing in common. Students often discover skills they never knew they had and delight in performing before an audience, many for the first and only time in their lives.”

The Awesome 80s Prom is not just a show, it’s an experience.

“Don’t miss your chance to relive your high school days,” Ms. Kozlowski said. “Step back in time and watch the drama unfold. See you at the prom!”

Performances take place Thursday, Jan. 31, at 7:30, Friday, Feb. 1, at 8, and Saturday, Feb. 2, at 6 p.m. at the Wilton High School Clune Center auditorium.
