Wilton hoop teams vying for FCIAC spots

The Wilton High boys and girls basketball teams are both in the mix for conference post-season berths.

Riding a 10-game winning streak, the WHS girls hoop team is currently 12-2 overall and 10-2 in the FCIAC.

The Warriors are fifth in the overall conference standings behind Danbury (12-0), Stamford (11-1), Trumbull (11-1) and Westhill (10-2). Westhill holds the tiebreaker by virtue of beating Wilton earlier this season.

The top-eight teams at the end of the regular season qualify for the FCIAC playoffs.

Meanwhile, the WHS boys hoop team has emerged as the surprise story of the FCIAC this winter. After starting the season 0-3, Wilton has won seven of nine games ans is 7-5 overall and 5-5 in the conference.

The Warriors are currently 10th overall in the FCIAC standings, a half game behind Greenwich (6-5).
