The Wilton High gymnastics team scored a season-high 137.85 on Tuesday at home, defeating three other teams to improve to 7-0.
Ashley Bascom led the way with a season-best all-around score of 35.0. She led the Warriors on the floor with a 9.0, on the beam with an 8.9, and on the bars with an 8.7. She had her best scores of the season on all four events, which included an 8.4 on vault.
The Warriors, who entered the meet with a 133.41 average, topped their previous season-best score by more than three points.
Wilton was led on vault by Christina Brandt and Sara Posson, who both scored 8.5.
Brandt also had an all-around score of 34.55 — her season best — and had the team’s second-high score on floor (8.85) and tied for the second-high score on bars (8.5) and beam (8.7). Her scores on bars and beam were her best of the season.
Annie Saltarelli tied for the team’s second-high score on bars with an 8.5, which tied her season best, and also scored 8.6 on beam and a season-best 8.8 on floor.
Morgan Leddy tied for the second-high team score on beam (8.7) and also scored an 8.3 on bars — both season-best scores.
Payton Piedmont had a season-best all-around score of 33.8, producing scoring efforts on vault (8.45), bars (8.35), beam (8.6) and floor (8.4). Her scores on bars and beam were her best of the season.
As a team, Wilton had its best scores of the season on bars (34.05), beam (34.9) and floor (35.05). The Warriors scored 33.85 on vault.
Wilton also got season-best efforts from Meg Daversa on vault (8.35), Riley Wadehra on bars (8.1) and Sam Farhi on beam (7.9).
Wilton scored wins over Joel Barlow (85.3), Weston (57.6) and Lauralton Hall (28.7). The Warriors had the top four finishers in all four events except for bars, where Barlow’s Natalie Hassett was second overall with an 8.6.
