Letitia Jeanette Corr, 95, a long-time resident of Wilton, died Jan. 20, 2013. She was born Sept. 17, 1917 in Wilton to the late Charles and Amelia Geyer Roche.
Mrs. Corr, who was known as Letty, was a graduate of New Canaan High School and New Britain State Teachers College and taught in the Wilton school system for 25 years. She was an accomplished athlete and was the second woman inducted into the New Canaan High School Sports Hall of Fame. She remained an avid fan of Wilton sports teams for many years. Bowling was another interest and she did this competitively well into her 80s. Her main love was her family, and she treasured her time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
“She was a joy to all and will be deeply missed, but lovingly remembered,” her family said.
Survivors of include two sons, C. Alan Corr and wife, Deborah, of Sacramento, Calif.; and Daniel M. Corr and wife, Pamela, of Boynton Beach, Fla.; and one daughter, Letitia Kenefic and husband, Jay, of Bethel, Conn. Also surviving are six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was pre-deceased by her son Lt. John G. Corr.
A graveside service will be held Saturday Jan. 26, at 11 a.m. at Lakeview Cemetery in New Canaan. The family will receive friends on Friday evening at the Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, New Canaan, from 4 to 8. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lt. John G.
