Snow closes schools

As the overnight snow and sleet have created a sloppy commute and closed schools this morning in town, weather forecasters are saying to expect rain and sleet mainly before 2 p.m. and a high near 39 degrees.

Northeast wind is expected to be around 5 mph, becoming calm. The chance of more precipitation is 90%, reports the National Weather Service. Total daytime sleet accumulation is expected to be possibly less than a half inch.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28. West wind 6 to 8 mph.

And when it time to go back to school, guess what? The sun will come out.

Thursday’s forecast is partly sunny, with a high near 44. West wind is expected to be 6 to 10 mph.
