Bobbi Eike Mullen, a Georgetown artist and instructor, will once again offer weekly art classes and a Vermont plein air workshop.
Painting classes are conducted by Ms. Mullen every Friday from 9:30 to 12:30 in the Art Room at the Georgetown Community Cultural Center.
The center, in the old Gilbert & Bennett School, offers art classes weekly for adults and children. Lessons in music, theater and performing arts, and an array of cultural activities embracing and promoting the creative arts, are continually available. The school building is located near the corner of Routes 7 and 107 at 49 New Street in Wilton. Information is available by calling 203-544-0056.
For 25 years, Ms. Mullen has conducted summer workshops in New England. In 2013, the “Come Paint With Me …” workshop will take place once again at the Landgrove Inn, Landgrove, Vt. The workshop incorporates both plein air painting and studio study.
Ms. Mullen’s focus within this workshop is to encourage each participating artist’s personal creative approach and individual style. Various artist mediums and skill levels are encouraged during the week-long retreat scheduled Aug. 11 to 17.
The inn may be reached at 800-669-8466 for further information or to register for a workshop.
Ms. Mullen has taught at the Ridgefield Guild of Artists, the Wooster Community Arts Center and Building Blocks Art Supply. She teaches plein air watercolor seasonally for the National Park Service at Weir Farm National Historic Site in Wilton.
She is a member of several art organizations, including Connecticut Women Artists, and she recently joined the Connecticut Plein Air Painters Society.
