The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for snow in southern Connecticut, which is in effect from 8 a.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday.
Accumulations of three to five inches are possible, with a few spots exceeding six inches, especially in the interior of southern Connecticut.
Temperatures will be in the upper 20s to around 30, and winds will be calm, from the northeast at 5 to 7 mph.
According to the weather service, snow will begin in the morning and continue throughout the day before tapering off Saturday night. Travel could be hazardous with slippery roads.
Sunday is expected to be partly sunny but cold, with a high near 35. Winds will pick up to 13 to 20 mph.
Sunday night will be mostly clear with a low around 18.
