Spring I & II is a diptych by Tara McKiernan Kovach of Wilton that will be part of an exhibition opening Sept. 16, at Axel Interiors in Norwalk.

Axel Interiors of Norwalk will feature Wilton artist Tara McKiernan Kovach, in its first solo art exhibition, Colors in Nature. There will be an opening reception on Saturday, Sept. 16, from 5 to 8 p.m., at 33 North Avenue.

The oil and acrylic paintings will be shown in context, as they would be seen at home, surrounded by fine artisan furniture and refined home decor. Kovach derives her inspiration from nature as she experiences it from the open barn doors of her studio, and the world she inhabits raising three energetic children. The subject matter is abstracted, yet recognizable as macro views of flowers, berries, leaves, smoke, sky, water and earth.

Kovach earned her bachelor’s of fine art and design from Ithaca College, and her master of fine art from Savannah College of Art. Her work has been shown extensively, including solo exhibitions at Gallery Eleven in Fairfield, as well as in shows from Georgia to Maine.

The public is invited to attend the opening reception; refreshments will be served. Information: ulla@axelinteriors.com.
